Program notes:

While deciding on a new piece to arrange I came across one of my favorite quintet pieces which I arranged for woodwind ensemble.

The Pastorale was written in 1943 for the Curtis Woodwind Quintet in Philadelphia.

The lower the flute choir instruments, the softer they become, so I endeavor to balance the parts by selective dynamics and doubling as needed. The tempos given are guide posts which I also use to hear the playback on my computer, thus the tempos are at the speed which I have written the arrangement to my satisfaction.
